Cookie Policy

This page lists what ResumeElite stores in your browser, why, and how to change it. It supplements the privacy policy.
Two things are worth stating up front. First, your resume is not a cookie and is never sent to us — it lives in your browser’s Local Storage. Second, nothing in the advertising or analytics categories loads until you consent; the default state is denied.
What we store, and why

These cannot be switched off. Without the first, the builder cannot keep your work; without the second, the consent banner would reappear on every page.
Advertising — only with consent
We use Google AdSense to keep the site free. When you allow advertising cookies, Google and its partners may set cookies to select ads, cap how often you see the same one, and measure whether an ad worked.

Exact names and lifetimes are set by Google, not by us, and can change. Google documents them in its advertising cookies notice.
Analytics — only with consent

We use this in aggregate only. We do not use it to identify individuals, and we do not connect it to anything you type into the builder.
How to change your choice
- Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page and choose again.
- Or clear site data for resume-elite.com in your browser, which resets everything — including your saved resume, so export a PDF first if you want to keep it.
Choosing Reject non-essential means no advertising or analytics script is loaded at all. The builder, every template and PDF export continue to work exactly the same; nothing is withheld from you for declining.
Opting out with Google directly
- Google Ads Settings — turn off ad personalisation across Google.
- aboutads.info — industry opt-out for many vendors at once.
- Your Online Choices — the European equivalent.
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Browser-level controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a private browsing mode that discards them when you close the window. Be aware that blocking all storage will also stop your resume draft from being saved, since the builder relies on Local Storage to keep your work between visits.
Do Not Track
There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to the Do Not Track browser header, so we do not rely on it. Use the cookie banner or the footer link instead — those choices we do honour.
